In a popular form of exercise, which is running from the first warm-up stretch to the final finish line, the employees of LEC participated in a much loved and common event of the Nedbank Maseru City run.
The race embodies a widespread number of individuals and corporates from near and far, to take charge of both their physical and mental health, thus the company sponsored thirty-five (35) of its staff to be part of the momentous occasion.
Since this form of physical exercise does not need much equipment, and that is also a convenient way of building muscle while boosting individual’s mood it was easy to prepare for the race by everyone.
All LEC offices were represented countrywide although, though any trophy was not brought home but participation alone was a meaningful contribution. “Running does not need anyone to be a marathon runner to see the benefits, just a simple jog is enough to improve mental and physical health of the of an individual”, said Ms Esther Maboee who was a 10km participant.
From the first whistle to the final applause, the atmosphere was charged with energy and anticipation. The track became a stage where speed met strategy, the field turning into a battle of resilience, and every race reflecting discipline and dedication from the participants. Whether sprinting towards the finish line, passing the baton in perfect coordination, or displaying strength and agility, each athlete embodied the true meaning of commitment and perseverance.

The marathon also reinforced invaluable life lessons. It underscored that success is earned through dedication, preparedness and hard work and reminded everyone that setbacks are stepping-stones for improvement. Most importantly, it highlighted the essence of sportsmanship- respecting opponents, celebrating victories with humility, and accepting defeats with grace.
Beyond the competition, the event strengthened bonds within the community and colleagues and LEC made it simple by joining the rest of the participants at #NedbankMaseruCityRun.
